I didn’t watch the video and I haven’t followed the details of the har habayis current events, but it would seem pretty apparent that if these new security measures were really an important part of securing har habayis, they would have been introduced years ago. There have been these types of hat habayis terrorist incidents for years. So why would they wake up now?!
The truth is that most of these types of measures are political moves and political posturing meant to please the citizens of the State who are demanding security, as well as to placate the right wing fringe that want more control over hat habayis. I’m not denying that there is a security need for these metal detectors, but don’t be fooled by what the govt is telling you. They’re not as important as the politicians (and politics minded security people) make it out to be. There are many intelligent non-chareidi people who agree with this bochur.
