one of the biggest issues I have [with K9] is that it’s very hard to really fine tune it within a category. For example, they lump “streaming video and MP3” together. So it will block YouTube and Spotify, the latter of which I like and use.
You can add an exception to allow (or not allow) a specific site regardless of category.
I’ve said this before here. I broke through k9 as a kid and so did many of my friends. If you have kids, GET SOMETHING ELSE. That said, as an adult who won’t spend 15-40 minutes breaking it, it’s really good and nice. You can get certain sites whitelisted.
I’m sure she didn’t figure out how to do that herself, but rather found instructions online. You can block
the computer/hacking categories, and go through Google and blacklist any unblocked sites you find.
