To CTLawyer: I certainly would not think that a Confederate government note is intended to be a tribute. I do think you have understated the problem with the Confederacy: “discrimination” was a relatively minor problem, but the bigger problem was slavery. And a statue memorializing a soldier who fought to defend that state is an abomination.
