Reply To: How much should we help the poor?

This idea that it is a big aveira to give even one penny more than needed to tzedaka (and that a poor person who spends tzedaka money on decent clothing, shoes, takeout, or car payments instead of potatoes only is some kind of criminal) is very disturbing, especially from a traditional Jewish point of view.
