In Yershalayim ir hakodesh, one can either buy herring in a fish store and make it themselves- cheap, time consuming, and taste depends on your culinary skills- buy the ready made israeli herring- not so cheap, and utterly gross, or buy one of the well-made american style herrings for a premium, but they’re amazing.
