CTL, it is admirable that you are generous with your own money but you have no right to be generous with other people’s money. We learn this from Avraham Avinu who would not take even a shoelace after the war of five kings against four but insisted that his soldiers be paid. I reiterate that the free enterprise system is the best tzedaka provider because it provides a better standard of living for all as a result of productive work. Those who are considered poor today live much better than medieval nobility.
