The problem with raising the minimum wage beside increasing wages for the employer it also is bad for the employee. Most if not all of those working for minimum wage are on government programs which are based on income. If an employee’s gross income goes up his government benefits are reduced. Many times the reduction in benefits is greater than the increase in salary. The only people it benefits are those who work off the books as they get extra money without a reduction in benefits.
