The Sefer Chagvei Haselah explains that mezuzah is at the right because it is towards the inside, teaching us how to behave inside and that house belongs to Hashem. However, neir chanukah is towards the outside teaching us how one should behave outside. So, they are both placed at the right, as the left towards the outside is the right towards the inside.
