B”H we have Biden as president.
People here don’t realize that no one knows where this will end. We live in our daled amos and don’t care too much about things going on in far away places.
But it is possible for this conflict to extend beyond Ukraine. It might spill over to the neighboring Baltic States who are NATO members or Poland. With Putin we can never be sure. The best chance to deter Putin is through a unified NATO and EU. But with Trump in office NATO was beginning to unravel. The trans- Atlantic alliance was beginning to strain, and it is highly doubtful that Trump would be able to rally the world like Biden has. With Trump in office Putin for sure would not stop with Ukraine his next victims would be Estonia Latvia and Lithuania, triggering a terrible land war in Europe the likes of which we have not seen since WW2. That would be a tragic outcome and would cost many many lives Hashem Yishmor.
With Biden there is at least a chance to stop Putin’s aggression. Especially when he feels the full force of sanctions. Trump says he had a great relationship with Putin but he also said that about Kim Jung Un and we all know what that got him- zero!
