Reply To: Learning on Shovuos – Got It All Wrong

I am all for learning on Shovuos night, (and at all times). Minhag Yisroel Torah, and certainly a mimnhag like this, mentioned by the Beis Yosef, the Shelah and others, and is practiced by such a large spectrum of Yidden, Chassidim, Litvishes, Sefardim (although those who do not, and feel they will learn more by learning on Erev Shovuos & Shovuos afternoon also have choshuve rabbonim to back them).

My point was only that we should not forget the main focus. To miss the wood for the trees.
We have to be aware and conscious that the main issue of Shovuos is being מקבל תורה ומצות מיד בורא העולם נותן התורה
