Ten hours a day for barely understanding half an amud is not a real learner. Using the word learning to explain such an activity would be a misnomer. I do not know what to call such a person. They may be a better yeshiva student, but are they better talmid chacham than someone who learns TaNaCH all day? What kind of mitzvah is it to learn what is not being understood?
