But much more powerful to turn directly to Hashem from your heart wholeheartedly for help in whatever you need from shidduchim to parnassah to children etc….. As we say daily 3 times karov Hashem….. In Ashrei which means Hashem is close to all who call out to Hashem WHOLEHEARTEDLY (and not just from reading a siddur or tehillim etc..)
