It was named Kaufman Road because the owners of almost the entire road were Norman and David Kaufman and families; Prominent Monticello people. One of them was even Mayor of Monticello for a while. They also owned Kaufman’s Appliances. About 27 years ago the colony was purchased by a frum person, who 3 years ago sold to A. A. lesser from Bobov-48. A lot of the units were sold and rebuilt.
