eisheschayil- the problem is with your quote “due to religious reasons it is forbidden to shake hands with a male”. This is not the crux of it.If there is no “issur’ (as many maintain) then there is no need to circumvent it. Not everyone has to do ‘middas chassidus”. (and, btw, this is surely less of a problem for a woman,as mentioned)
