My husband and I have a regular “date” every Friday at noon. He finishes work early on erev Shabbos, and when he gets home, we go out to the bagel store and share a sandwich. We do this even when the weather is lousy, we are both tired from the morning, or we have other errands to take care of. It gives us a solid hour that we touch base without the pressures of everyone else’s need around us. Some of our best conversations happen in that bagel store.
