Judge people favorably.
There are so many times that we look at others and assume we know the way they are, why they act the way they do and why they are the people they seem to be. So many times we judge them and think bad things about them, but if we stop and think that they are just human beings we will realize that their life circumstances or things they’ve lived through have made them the way they are.
I’ve had the uncomfortable situation of being hurt by a person who does not even know me well, but nevertheless has something against me, and I felt bitter towards that person. One day I found out things about this person and issues going on in this person’s life and suddenly I saw this individual’s hurtful actions in a new light. All this time I felt that I had been wronged until I realized this person was suffering and acting this way because of an illness. I learned from that situation to judge others favorably, even when they are the ones who seem to be hurting you. You don’t know what people live through and although I don’t deserve what this person has done to me, I find it hard for my heart not to forgive them. I see people in a new light now. From the person who has wronged me, I have learned never to judge others.
(sorry for the rant, it’s late and I should be in lala land now)
