To me, thats semi-sad. It means the person maintains a strong connection to Judaism, to the level of wanting a connection with a Rabbi. Thats a good thing – and probably means s/he is raising his/her kids to be very Jewish minded and makes it easier for them to come back into the fold.
Sad that she isn’t following Orthodoxy.
