Depends on the mistake, how many times such a mistake has been made, and whether or not the boss got out on the wrong side of the bed that morning. Bottom line – the boss pays your salary, so you may have to suck it up. It doesn’t feel good (And I HATE bosses who take off on their employees even when they DO make a mistake), but it’s still your boss.
