I have found that if someone is looking for a legitimate job there are plenty of opportunities! Nobody says that moving to E”Y is easy but the opposite. The economic situation will never reach a high level- most people manage if they take a reality check and give up expectations to make an American salary in Israel. I don’t have first hand experience but I have doubts that those who live in Israel but have spouses to work in America are truly happy with the higher financial standard of living they are providing their families with.
If a person(family) chooses to live in E”Y it must be a choice of giving up the gashmiyos of CHU”L for yes all of the benefits of living in Eretz Yisroel.
