jewishandworking22 – you write – let everyone find their significant other without guidelines from any outsider. No one is forcing anyone to marry anyone else. The Rabbonim have written a Kol Korei encouraging shadchonim to try to make shidduchim amongst people close in age. They haven’t issued any guidelines, and to say they have is false. Of course, if a shadchan feels that a shidduch is appropriate even if it is far in age – no rav would tell the shadchan not to suggest it. The Rabbonim never set statutes and said whom can date whom, when and where. You are putting words in their mouths!
