Also, logically, the proposed amendment is ridiculous. There are plenty of laws for Congresspersons that don’t apply to ordinary citizens for good reasons. Just to take a silly example, the law permits a congressperson to hire a staff funded by public monies. If your amendment were to pass, then you and I and every citizen could also hire staffs funded by public monies. I don’t think that that’s what you want, is it?
