Reply To: Lulav and Esrog Set for Child?

Cherrybim-there is no such thing as fake tzitzis so i have to put on him the real thing.As for unkosher meat-c’mon-i should trief up my house to save a few dollars?i would never do that.And speaking about the tzitzis,actually my cleaning lady butchered a couple of them but my husband said its ok for my son to wear them because at this age he is wearing them for chinuch not because he really has to.So he is actually wearing possul tzitzis.

my son is not going to know the difference if his llulav cost a thousand dollars or if i got it for free.He will feel like he is part of the jewish people in shul when he waves it and that to me is all i need from him right now!i need him to love judiasm and to be proud of who he is which is the lesson i am trying to impart.i didnt think this issue was so heated!

WIY-thanks for the advice.i think iwill ask my husband if he can take our son lulav and esrog shopping.that sounds like fun for both of them!and i am trying to give him a love of the mitzvos by getting him a set!
