On the other hand, we find that malchus of Ahav was started improperly(his father usurped the throne), and Ahav was a rasha, and Eliyahu spoke sharply to him. However on a different occasion, Eliyahu displayed kovod ha’malchus towards Ahav(end of Zevochim). Ahav is also praised for his heroism in the battlefield on behalf of Klal Yisroel(end of Moed Koton).
