Excellent question! What theprof1 said is true. On the other hand, we find that malchus of Ahav was started improperly(his father usurped the throne), and Ahav was a rasha, and Eliyahu spoke sharply to him. However on a different occasion, Eliyahu displayed kovod ha’malchus towards Ahav(end of Zevochim). Ahav is also praised for his heroism in the battlefield on behalf of Klal Yisroel(end of Moed Koton).
As far as the Satmar Rebbe’s seforim go, he held that Zionism is a pirtsa and he is allowed to say not-emese pshatim to fight it.
