my mother used to sing it to us.it’s a beautiful haunting melody composed by a great tzadik on his deathbed or wherever he was when he knew he was close to death.i get tearful whenever i sing it because my mother herself was niftar young.i can’t sing it to a man but to a wife or daughter.
