As everyone is aware, there is a terrible forest fire raging across northern Israel, which has resulted in scores of deaths and injuries, destruction of numerous buildings, and displacement of thousands of people.
The safety and well-being of our brethren in Eretz Yisroel always occupies a prominent place in our tefillos, but now there is obviously an additional reason to be marbeh b’tefillah, and particularly to have in mind those who have been injured or displaced by the fire or have lost loved ones.
We are establishing a special relief fund for victims of this terrible fire, the proceeds of which will be distributed to those who have suffered loss as a result of the fire. If you would like to contribute to this fund, please make checks payable to Agudath Israel of America, indicate that the contribution is for “Israel Fire Relief Fund,” and mail it to our office at 42 Broadway, New York, NY 10004.
