Designer clothing is obviously better quality and all, but I do not think that it is worth the price. If you get a $300 tie vs. a $30 tie, how much longer will you wear it for. Chances are you will retire it from your wardrobe long before it wears out. If you plan on wearing the same tie for the next 15 years straight, then yeah- maybe go for the more expensive one. But I have the feeling that most people are doing it for the label factor and not the quality factor.

it is common knowledge what certain designer items cost. These high end designers hardly go on sale, and if they do, they are still unaffordable for most. If people bought fakes for $15 (very common, btw) then they are obviously just doing it for the label factor and not the quality, because the quality of fakes are inferior to even non designer brands. So if you see a Ferragamo belt that is peeling, chances are it is not real.
