It may come from there, but it’s not a part of it, no more than a newly lit flame is a part of the old flame.
We do find such a concept regarding the havdalah candle used after Yom Kippur; a candle lit from the “ner sheshovas” suffices (at least b’dieved. I’m not sure if it’s a perfect analogy; just a thought.
