The do not call registry does not apply to charities.
Whenever I get a call from I charity I’m not familier with, I ask for a copy of their IRS form 1023 and for IRS form 990 for the previous 3 years. Additionally, I never commit by phone and the checks for my Maaser account do not have my address or phone number printed on them.
