When it comes to the telephone, I can understand not wanting to receive certain calls at certain times. However, it cuts both ways. Its your fault for answering the phone when it is not convenient for you. If you are serving supper, putting your kids to sleep or just want to relax, ignore the phone. If the yetzer hara of the ringer is too much, then turn off the ringer. If the call is important, the person will try again, or leave a message.
