I agree that this attitude is against Kollel ideals and teachings. I think that this was the point of the OP -that this is somewhat prevalent, even though they shouldn’t be like that. He/she brought stories not just from her/him self, but from their friends also. Also, I know about the demanding before the marriage even takes place. So to make it out that it is a very, very small percentage- simply isn’t honest!
