My silver used to be like that and then every once in a while when it was real bad I would take out the polish and rub away until it sparkled. It took a lot of time and elbow grease. In the past couple of years I don’t use polish at all and my silver is always sparkling. I use silversmiths’ gloves. Every motzei Shabbos, before I put away the leichter, I put on my gloves and wipe them down and voila beautiful, sparkling leichter in just a few minutes. Then I put them away in the china closet until the next Friday (and they still look good). Hagerty and Goddard’s makes these gloves and although they are not too cheap they’re worth every penny!
