If you suspect it’s an automated phone call from some Charitable organization, pick up the phone, and be silent the first 2 seconds. You will be automatically disconnected.
The way it works is that you are dialed automatically bu computer, if a human voice is detected, then it connects to one of their operators. If no answer is detected within 2 seconds, it doesn’t even connect. Try it. Sorry for exposing this – I figured some else might also want a life!
