The Spice and Spirit of Kosher Cooking is excellent, so is the The Heimisch Kitchen, and the Balabusta’s Cookbook. Jamie Geller has a new book out, not sure of the exact title but something like, The New Bride’s Cookbook, specifically geared to the novice cook.
