ItcheSrulik, I’m sorry but you’ve taken exactly the wrong lesson from this. Reb Shlomo’s lesson from this was to bring people closer to God. Yours was to go pray to men.
In both above cases, it was the Rebbe who cried to Hashem for the Chasid to succeed, not the Chossid crying to Hashem directly.
Am I missing something?
