Here is what I dont get. Mommy is English which seems to be the pretty excepted style…Yet Tatty is in the Yiddish vernacular. I suppose the reason is because in Yiddish Mom is Momma which is really close to Mommy, so there. But Tatta is not too close to Dad so it didn’t switch to the English Daddy as did the Mommy.

Although Tatta and Dadda and Tatty and Daddy aint too far off, I guess it kinda strayed to far from its Yiddish roots kinda thing.

I’m not sure why though, Abba is more common than Imma. You have some families that call their dad Abba yet they call their Mom Mommy not Imma. Kind of confusing. Although others call Mother Mommy (English) and father Totty (Yiddish) so I guess cross naming is kind of come standard in some homes.
