Most places will pay the scrap metal value of the silver only, meaning they will weight it and based on the present market value of silver per ounce, they will calculate what they will pay. They don’t care that your mother nesched licht on these very candlesticks, or that the becher was used in your chasuneh. Those are good reasons to pass them along to family members who would value them. i know. I have been there and done that.
