If you drink coffee, Brew/make your own coffee at home. The average cup of coffee is $1.00 – $1.25 per Cup. Multiply this amount by how many times a week you purchase a cup of coffee. More at Starbucks, D&D and Chock Full ‘O Nuts.
Bring your lunch to work. Again, multiply.
Bring your breakfast to work. Again, multiply.
Read through the TV Vues and Torah Times to see which supermarkets have the best buys of the week. True, some of the supermarkets require the customer to purchase $10.00 of non-sale items in order to buy the items on sale.
If you can, walk to work and back home at least 3-4 times a week, depending on the weather.
Use regular plates and utensils as opposed to plastic/paper. Waste of money and the landfills will thank you.
Instead of using tin pans to cook, purchase good quality pans. Same goes for baking. Amazing Savings and Jack’s World (NYC) have really good buys.
Borrow books/DVDs/CDs from the library.
If you can get to ShopRite (McDonald and Avenue I) sometimes they have very good sales.
Many people don’t like to, but how about using coupons? Even if it’s a $1.00 off, it pays for the tax of the product if there is one.
Try to find websites that send free samples. They are out there, you just have to look. Sometimes they also send coupons with the samples.
