There will possibly come a time when missing attending that meeting and just “stopping by” may cost you a job for not being perceived as a team player. Perhaps you can suggest a nice KOSHER place for the next meeting. My husband did that for the school end-of-the-year staff party, and they liked the kosher place very much and did it again the following year.
