I’d be happy to share my experience with you. Is there anything in particular you want to hear about? Are you dealing with any serious medical issues? In general, you need to expect ups and downs….it’s a bit of a rollercoaster but especially with today’s modern medicine, the kids are strong and will eventually grow up. It’s really amazing when they do it, but it takes time.
My first preemie was my first born. I was very young, he was very small and his condition was very precarious. My hormones and emotions were out of whack and I found it hard to look at him or feel any connection in the begining. (And you may not want to when you don’t know if they’ll live or die). Over time, a bond DOES develop and the baby even becomes your “miracle baby” that you take great pride in.
My second preemie came about 11 years later (he’s 8 now). Once again, I went through the emotional rollercoaster with every up and down, but it wasn’t nearly as hard as my first. They are B”H both strong, healthy boys today.
