nononono…that is NOT what I’m talking about. The rabbonim have since made a pshara of sorts and acknowledged that the internet is needed for business, so they allow it…providing that you have a web filter or covanent eyes installed, and still people vehemently oppose such bans. internet use among the frum world, i can guarantee you, is NOT strictly for business and anyone who thinks so is delusional. that is not to say that there are people out there who DO use it only for business, but for most i would say that its untrue. that was not the issue i was addressing and you know it.

you want proof of sorts? look at YW. (what i am about to say is in no way intended to be offensive, just to make a point) we have someone who grew up as the son of a child molester, we have me who grew up with an abusive bipolar mother, we have people who have serious issues with shidduchim, some people who are on and off the derech…do you think its any coincidence that the people who congregate here have such serious issues? no! of course not! we all come here to get away from our lives…not because our business requires us to use the internet.
