Im using GE with shabbath mode and its mainly created for yom tov. You can also use it for friday night with a timer going off before you ready to take the food out.
But you must run it few times on a weekday to make sure you understand how it will work and get used to it.
Star-k even allows change temperature of the electronic over on yom tov but i think most other Rabbis dont. So make sure to ask your rabbi about it also.
