It is never easy to make a huge decision such as aliyah. Where your going to live is going to be based on what is best for your family. If your single then you will probably end up in Yershulayim. There is a great website out there called Janglo.net its a networking site, for jobs, furniture, apts. If you have children where you live is going to depend on the type of schools your looking for.
