I don’t see why the Yeshiva doing its due diligence in researching applicants qualifications for the school as a problem. So them asking others information is to be expected. Essentially his knowing what he knew should not have been a problem. Though it was tactless on his part to let you know what he knew. He should have just been quiet and not mentioned it.
