As a postscript (and I have posted this before), one of my friends is a Jewish author. You would not believe the hoops the author had to go through to discribe a “non romantic” relationship between two of the characters before they became frum. The publisher would not allow the use of the word “boyfriend” or “girlfriend”.
Personally, I think well of Jonathan & Faye Kellerman. I once read one of the Decker series books (that was what was there, and in a place where I couldn’t learn) and was quite impressed (although I can not vouch for cleanliness of any book for someone elses standards).
