What if the same person would just smell like roses, and you couldn’t stand roses? Same story? There are two issues here: one of smell tolerance, and one of a person’s choice to enjoy him/herself with a pastime that runs a moderate risk of causing serious illness to themselves. Genuine Mussar given out of love and care wouldn’t bother me much (though I’ve rarely seen that type), but saying it smells doesn’t justify treating someone disrespectfully. If someone lights up indoors that’s an entirely different story, which we’re not discussing now.
