Strangely enough, I know or knew one of the signators personally (unless the signator is someone of the same name and a similar position) from the early 90’s when he was trying to augment his low university salary by trading in textiles in Moscow.

I don’t even pretend to know whether evolution as described by Darwin is correct. Accepting evolution and denying the presence of a deity do not necessarily go hand in hand.
