I know someone who worked with her during her divorce. She felt that her husband’s connections put her at a big disadvantage. She felt she was getting a bad deal. I don’t know how true that is, but I know I have heard of many women who becomes less religious during a difficult divorce. Many feel that rabbis favor the man. Possibly what happened here.
