There is an over emphasis on Tanach in girls schools because being able to write a 77 page essay comparing and contrasting the understanding of the Ralbag, Rashi and Sforno in sefer yirmiyahu will give one the ability to be a better wife and mother. Guys don’t have a need to be a better wife and mother, hence, no emphasis on Tanach in yeshivos.
