I’m loving this thread. Reliving my childhood. Too bad kids today don’t have as much fun as we did, playing “in front of the house” until your mom called you in for dinner. Now they’re expected to know in Pre-1A (a fancy name for kindergarten) what we knew in 1st grade. And I hear the public schools in NYC are making even more ridiculous requirements, which, of cousre, we’ll have to emulate in yeshivas.
BTW, what was a typical yeshiva tuition in say the ’50s and ’60s in NYC? Most of us moms who work now are doing so because that’s the only way a family can send their kids to yeshiva.
