nitpicker, that is exactly why I think they haven’t noticed it, because they definitely would not have it up if they knew. It’s actually quite interesting: I think people who live in a house all the time don’t discern small details of their household items as well as guests do. I think guests are specifically taking in their surroundings and will notice more, whereas members of the household don’t really think twice.
